With guidance and practice, anyone can write and deliver a speech successfully. Making a short formal speech involves three stages:  Planning  Writing  Delivery Planning Stage The content of your speech and how you deliver it will depend on three important factors:  Occasion / Situation  Audience  The purpose of your speech Writing stage  This stage involves the following:  Creating an outline  Collecting the material required  Preparing the first draft   Editing for correctness, cohesiveness etc.

Remember the following points while delivering a speech: Your appearance – you must be well– groomed. Be clear and audible. Adjust your pace of delivery – pause when necessary. Make eye contact with members of the audience and sustain it to win the trust and confidence of your listeners.
